Getting started

WEXWatch is invite-only. There is no public sign-up page, and you cannot create your own account: an administrator inside the programme has to invite you. This keeps the issue register limited to people who are actually working on the corridor.

Receiving and accepting an invite

An Admin or Super Admin sends an invite to your email address. The email contains a single-use link.

Invite links expire 12 hours after they are sent. If you open the link after that, it will not work and you will need to ask for a new one. If the invite has gone to a shared inbox, forward it promptly, or ask for it to be reissued to the address you actually use.

When you open a valid invite link you are asked to set a password. Choose something you do not use elsewhere. Password requirements are shown on the form itself.

Verifying your email address

WEXWatch verifies that the address really belongs to you. Depending on where you are in the process you may be asked to click a verification link sent to the same address you were invited at.

If the email does not arrive within a few minutes, check your junk or quarantine folder, and check with your IT team that mail from the WEXWatch domain is not being blocked. Verification links are time-limited in the same way invites are, so request a fresh one rather than reusing an old email.

Completing your profile

The first time you sign in you are asked for a short set of details before you reach the map:

FieldNotes
First nameYour given name, as colleagues would recognise it.
Second nameYour family name.
PhoneA number you can be reached on while on site.
OrganisationThe company or agency you work for.
EmailNormally pre-filled from your invite.

These details matter because they appear against your notes on issue timelines. An entry that reads as a real person is far more useful six months later than one that reads as an email prefix.

Your Organisation Type (Council, Consultant, Contractor or Other) and your Role are set by an administrator, not by you. You cannot change your own role.

Signing in

After the first sign-in you use your email address and password. Sign in on the same device you take photos with if you upload from the field, since that saves transferring files.

Forgotten password

Use the password reset link on the sign-in page. WEXWatch emails you a time-limited link that lets you set a new password. Requesting a reset does not change anything until you actually follow the link and choose a new password, so it is safe to request one if you are unsure.

If the reset email does not arrive, confirm you are using the address you were invited at. WEXWatch will not send a reset to an address that has no account.

Getting your access changed

If you cannot do something you expect to be able to do — create an issue, edit a field, add a note — it is almost always your role rather than a fault. Read Roles and permissions, then ask an Admin in your organisation to change your role if the work genuinely requires it.
